Anticipate no more…
The official music video release date is July 1st (Canada Day)! And on a most certainly fitting date.
Not only am I excited to share The Canadian Dream with you on this fabulous country’s birthday, but you’ll finally get a chance to view the amazing adaptation for this song. I’ve had the opportunity to catch a few sneak peaks throughout the editing process, and I must say, it’s looking VERY good.
Over the course of the days to come, we’ll be hyping it up as much as possible, with posters, screenshots, updates, and word of mouth.
This brings me to my next point…
Nobody likes a pushy salesman, least of all me, but given the state of the music industry these days, I’m afraid that pushing a product down someone’s throat is a necessary evil. We’re all frighteningly unaware at the amount of subliminal messages being forced upon us every day, and we’re becoming more and more okay with it. Remember the good ol’ days when skipping the ad on a YouTube vid was possible after five seconds? Let alone the fact that there was an ad to begin with? I find myself wasting so much time mentally filtering through ads that catch my attention on the most common websites alone, and it’s getting worse. I don’t mean for any of this to sound like I’m trying to rage against the system, or bring it to The Man, as there are already more than enough jaded hippies who refuse to adapt. Which brings me to the main point; in order to survive in the world of arts and entertainment, one must adapt. It’s sad to say, but the days of getting your name out there by throwing a big rock show on a saturday night are gone. Not that it isn’t possible, but if the way to sell yourself and get any lick of attention is to fight fire with fire, then so be it. I’m aware that this could define my friends and enemies, but this isn’t about being the nice guy anymore if that means finishing last. Go ahead and accuse me of spamming your newsfeed, but keep in mind that it’s a lot better than most of the other crap being pushed your way.
